Colts Cricket at St Peters CC

St Peters has been very proud of its excellent youth set up since it was reformed in 1992, and in fact St Peters has won a trophy every year since then.

Colts training is held at our home ground inside the cycle track at Preston Park on Monday evenings from 6pm.

We have about 40 lads at present all falling into the U9, U10, U11, U13, U14 categories and are keen to get more boys and girls involved.

We cater for all abilities so please feel free to come along regardless of whether you have played before.

The U11, U13 and U14 are playing in the South Area Young Cricketers Leagues and there are some friendlies as well, with the season culminating in the Sussex Junior Cricket Festival.

The training sessions are run by a mixture of qualified coaches to keep the lads interested.

There will also be guest coaches from Sussex on a regular basis, so dont miss out.

Anyone is welcome and you can either just turn up or contact Kevin on 550801 or mudie123@hotmail.co.uk

Players Wanted

St Peters are always on the lookout for new players, whether you are 8 or 80, male or female, we want you to come and join us.

We cater for all different standards, and please do not feel that you have to commit to playing every game, as we realise this is not practical for some people.

We have just finished refurbishing our clubhouse and so even if you dont want to play, we can cater for spectators, and have our own bar in our nice clubhouse at Preston Park.

Anyone interested should contact Club Captain - Simon Coomber on 07971917524 or cottonmist@hotmail.co.uk

Womens Cricket at St Peters CC

St Peters have just set up a womens team, and are looking for new players. The only requirement is that you enjoy yourself. We have a number of very keen ladies who are very much novices so do not worry if you havent played before.

We are looking to arrange a number of friendlies against othe rlocal teams of a similar standard to encourage new members and to continue learning about the game.

Training is held on a Tuesday night at our ground - within the cycle track at Preston Park in Brighton, from 6.30pm. These sessions are run by Roger Smith an ECB advanced level 2 coach with a great reputation, and well known among cricketing circles as a great ambassador of the game and good at imparting his in-depth cricketing knowledge.

This whole idea is the brainchild of Tim Chiari, our former 2nd X1 captain, and great credit should go to him for all his hard work in getting this up and running, so if you want to come along, just turn up or get in contact with Becky Wainewright on 07779 728941 or stpetersladies@hotmail.co.uk

Want to help a cricket club at the heart of the community

As any voluntary organisation will appreciate, that alot of hard work is required to run a sports club and as such lots of hands are needed to ensure the smooth operation of club.

We are in need of volunteers to help us fill various roles within our club, and you don't have to have any interest in cricket to get involved - but if you do then thats an added bonus

A few examples of roles we are loking for are umpires, scorers, people to prepare teas, people to run bar and help running the clubhouse, fundraisers and coaches.

It can be extemely rewarding helping your local community and that is what we at St Peters aim to do, we have junior sides and a womens team, so the whole family can really get involved.

For more info please contact Simon Coomber on 07971917524 or cottonmist@hotmail.co.uk
